This sea view apartment was bought empty by a 70-year-old open water swimmer. He wanted his swimming feats to be echoed throughout the apartment. He planned to have sunset parties to invite his swimming buddies, so the space should be flexible, open and integrated.
I opened some existing walls and integrated spaces with mobile partitions with reflective glass so that the sea was reflected on the walls. Even the bedroom closet had reflective glass to bring the sea closer, almost everywhere. Some of his open water swimming feats inspired sea paintings commissioned to some local artists. The blue ocean was the focal point of the fabric selection and complemented it with colours found on sandy beaches, rocky cliffs and ledges where the sea breaks.
