Larco Avenue Industrial Loft

Interior design and storytelling

This loft is located on the top floor of a 13-story building, offering a view of the city and the machinery of the air conditioning system located on the floor below. The story had to align with the building’s typology, emphasizing its industrial surroundings visible through the windows.

The captivating story behind this apartment involved a Peruvian photographer who resided in Tribeca, New York, travelled the world taking photographs for National Geographic, and ultimately settled in Lima. To create a timeless ambiance, I scoured flea markets for vintage items, including old cameras, recycled wood, caster wheels, and other fittings. A wall was covered with burnt wood lumber, and most of the furniture was custom-made on-site by a craftsman who blended metal and wood. To further enhance the apartment’s travel-inspired theme, I added a blackboard globe and provided chalk for guests to jot down their travel thoughts and adventures.
